BBI was launched in Boston's Back Bay in 1998 in the very early days of online education and web business development. We moved to Boston's South End Tech Space facility in 2001 and later to the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts in 2003. Founders Stephen Rinaldi and Ura Kondo lead the team. .

While we have always had a business home base, our first decade found us effectively and seamlessly serving our clients (and our own projects) from different sides of the globe - whether from Tokyo, Paris, Maui or up in the rolling hills of Western Massachusetts. Our strength has always been our creativity, efficiency and global reach.

The boundaries between work and daily life has blurred considerably for many of us over the past dozen years. An entirely new breed of consultants and web business owners have sprung from the availability of these new technologies, which allows more flexibility in business and education than any of us dreamed possible just a short time ago. Long gone are the days when the confines of an office and a desk was an essential component of running a business. Gone are the days when physically being in the classroom was the only way to interact with teachers and other students.

Today, BBI works primarily with three categories of consulting and project development:

• Design and development of online education programs for colleges and career schools worldwide, with a focus on health and wellness fields.
• Online consulting and business development for web entrepreneurs who desire to take advantage of the freedom of time and location that global web business allows when organized properly.

We maintain our private and secluded offices high in the hills of Berkshire County, Massachusetts. Our grounds are comprised of eight acres of maintained woodlands and surrounded by State Forest, Botanical Gardens and a private conservancy.

Our in-house office equipment and on-site client data is protected with Liebert GXT UPS systems and a web-based back-up strategy. Our BBIpowerhost servers (client web site data) are managed and maintained at a highly secure datacenter facility in the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

BBI promotes conservation and recycling of resources whenever possible. We encourage you to do your part to protect your own environment and to help preserve our natural resources.

Q. What web design services do you offer?*
A. We excel at creating practical, effective websites for our clients. We focus on substance over flashy designs because we know that it's much more important to see actual results from your site. Our design style focuses on attractive layout, well-crafted content that is search engine friendly and other site features that add to your site's overall effectiveness. Q. How much does it cost to build a website?
A. That all depends on your specific needs. Generally, we can build most standard sites with all our standard features for about US$5,000 - $7,000. Larger, more complex websites - or websites with more involved maintenance needs will cost more. We also provide ongoing monthly maintenance services that start around $200/mo.

Please note, however, that we do not simply add your business information to a pre-built template; Each client site is hand built and customized from scratch to provide you with web presence that search engines will find and index. Each client reaps the benefit of over a decade of experience in developing effective and profitale web sites. Translation and Localization Questions

Q. Why can't we just use translation software for our marketing text or website?
A. You can, but keep in mind that language translation software tends to be grossly inadequate, especially for Japanese - English / English - Japanese translations. It is important to rely on expert translators in order to accurately capture the tone of your message, not to mention avoiding any cultural mistakes in your off-line marketing materials and correspondence. Please note that the automated web site translation software we use on this web site is NOT a representation of our personalized human-translated work. That software is designed to provide on-the-fly translations of our site content into 14 different languages for international search purposes only. For printed marketing material or business correspondence, we would never recommend that you rely on an automated system.

Q. Does BBI only work with large translation projects?
A. No, we'll gladly provide you with a competitive quote on any size translation project, whether it's a single web page or an entire instruction manual.

Q. Do you provide live interpretation services?
