The double-lotus base is approximately 17"x15". The statue was created in the ancient "lost-wax" casting style. The spot slightly above and between the eyes is one of the 32 physical marks of a Buddha and is symbolic of the third or spiritual eye. The protuberance on the top of the head is another of the 32 marks and symbolizes Spiritual Wisdom. The right hand gesture is the "Tarjani Mudra" (the gesture of warding off evil). the left hand gesture represents meditation.
